Blooming Yucca - Sara Noelle

Inspired by the Texas desert sun, Sara Noelle’s single Blooming Yucca, captures the essence of how time can be stretched and your mind can wander while on a roadtrip. While passing by an infinite amount of yuccas and other desert creatures, I wanted to create a mellow trip that felt like a sunny day dream.  

The animation features desert day and night tones in its earthy color palette with psychedelic accents of purples and pinks. The illustrations are brush-like to evoke a fluid blend of frames as time passes and melts. I experimented with morphs and transitions to reflect the song’s lyrical elements of time. The music video’s end brings a releasing lift in a cooling storm.
